His Painted Angel – Part One
Been there, done that, got the five thousand dollar dress on the side.
For socialite Carla Morgan, life was a blur of boring parties, boring people, and boring expectations. What was there left to do? To explore? To admire?
So, when Greenwich Gallery invited her to the premiere of a new artist, not once, but twenty-five times, she could barely drum up the enthusiasm to get dressed. It was easier, however than continuing to refuse.
So, imagine her surprise when the exhibition is her. All of her. Glamorous, vulnerable, bored. The artist captured all the extremes of her personality in over a dozen paintings and put her up on the walls for the world to see.
Now this, this was different. For the first time, someone had bothered to look beyond the surface. For the first time, Carla felt seen. The real Carla.
She had to find the artist, this was a person worth knowing.
His Painted Angel – Part Two
Of course, she’d f*cked it up.
The media had had a field day with her affair, and being the fool she was, she’d listened.
Now, Jason was gone. The one bright light in her dull grey life. He was no more using her for the fame than she was using him. Carla had been foolish, listening to the words of strangers, rather than those of the man she loved, or the man who loved her.
Finding him again, however, was going to be harder than ever. He’d not only left her after their fight, but he’d also left everything. Burned his studio to the ground, walked out of his rental with only his clothing, Jason was dust in the wind, and she had no way of tracing him.
Could she find him and start again? Or had she blown away her only chance at love?
